The Union was established during the year 1986 covering the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts jurisdiction.

The Union has two dairies at Mangalore and Manipal with processing capacity of 1.0 Lakh and 60000 Liters per day respectively.  There are 42 Bulk Milk Coolers, 204 Automatic Milk Collection Units in the Union.

 
The Union has one Chilling Centre located at Puttur with 20000 lpd capacity

Apart from selling Toned/ Homogenised/ Standardised/ Full Cream Milk, the Union also produces and sells Ghee, Curds, Butter Milk (Masala), Peda, Lassi, Mysore Pak, Cream and Ice Cream.

The average milk procurement and sales per day to this Union is 1.70 lakh kgs per day and 2.44  lakh litres per day respectively.
