Honourable Chief Minister Sri. Siddaramaiah, Govt. of Karnataka laid the foundation stone for 100 MT/day capacity Powder along with other milk products Plant at an estimated cost of Rs. 300 Crores at Ramanagara district.
Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for Mega Dairy Plant at Kanakapura with an estimated cost of Rs. 450 Crores.
During the occasion, Minister of Power and Ramanagara district incharge Sri. D. K. Shivakumar, Minister of Animal Husbandry and Sericulture Sri. A. Manju, Minister of Cooperation Sri. H. S. Mahadeva Prasad, Member of Parliament (Bengaluru-Rural) Sri. D. K. Suresh, KMF Chairman Sri. P. Nagaraju, KMF MD Sri. Rakesh Singh, IAS and other dignitaries were present.
63rd Akhila Bharatha Sahakara Saptaha was inaugurated under the joint venture of State Cooperative Federation and Karnataka Milk Federation.
On this occasion, to encourage dairy industry and to overcome the present severe drought condition prevailing in Karnataka, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri.Siddaramaiah announced enhancement of milk subsidy from Rs. 4 to Rs.5/- under Ksheera Dhara Yojane. And also assured to continue the Rs.20Paise/Litre incentive to the Dairy Co-operative staff.
Effective from April 2017, under Ksheera Bhagya Yojane, to overcome mal-nutrition among Anganawadi and Government school children, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri.Siddaramaiah announced extending of supply of milk from 3 to 5days a week.
